Impact of Monitoring Activities on the relationship between COVID – 2019 and Internally Generated Revenue of Shendam Local Government Council of Plateau State

Abstract

The dwindled internally generated revenue of the majority of the tiers of government elicited the need for this study. The study evaluated the impact of monitoring activities on the relationship between corona virus disease – 2019 lockdown period and internally generated revenue. The study employed a cross – sectional research design. Primary data was used for the study through administering a questionnaire. The population of the study stood at a total of 103 respondents drawn from the three departments (finance, revenue and agriculture) of Shendam local government council of Plateau State, Nigeria. The study adopted eighty (80) sample size determined from the Krejcie and Morgan (1970) sample size determination table of 95% confidence interval and 5% margin of error. Multiple regressions method of data analysis was employed with the aid of statistical package for social sciences (SPSS) version 22 was used for data entry and Smart partial least square {Smart PLS) for data analysis. The study found that monitoring activities have a positive and significant impact on the relationship between corona virus disease – 2019 lockdown period and internally generated revenue of Shendam local government council of Plateau state, Nigeria.
